Diagnostic System for Medium- and High-Voltage Cables

PDTD200-2 is an advanced diagnostic system which, in combination with HVA120 or HVA200 test equipment, offers both portable and integrated solutions for the analysis of medium- and high-voltage cables, rotating machines, and transformers. The system enables early detection of weaknesses in cable systems, creating better conditions for preventive maintenance while reducing the risk of costly downtime.

With integrated Tan Delta technology, PDTD200-2 enables simultaneous measurement of partial discharges (PD) and Tan Delta (TD). This parallel diagnostics saves time and eliminates the need for cable preconditioning, which could otherwise negatively affect measurement results. The system also enables measurements at constant frequency across different cable lengths, which is essential for comparing results from previous tests and monitoring development over time.

The diagnostic system is designed for testing XLPE, PE, EPR and PILC cables up to 100 km. With precise fault localization of up to 1% accuracy and a resolution of 0.1 pC per 0.1 meter, even small deviations can be identified at an early stage, contributing to high operational reliability in critical infrastructure.

In combination with HVA120 or HVA200, PDTD200-2 can be expanded into a complete and powerful system for cable testing up to 200 kV. The solution is flexible, scalable, and adaptable to different needs and applications.

The system complies with relevant international standards and guidelines, including IEEE 400.2 and 400.3 as well as IEC 60270, IEC 60502-2, HD 620 and CEI EN 50393. This ensures reliable and reproducible measurement results in all types of projects.
